This is not your typical tomato based chili.

This is anti-inflammatory friendly and packed with nutrients to support gut health such as bone broth, sweet potatoes, and avocado.

One of the toughest parts of anti-inflammatory diet is the removal of nightshades including spicy peppers /spices (which make up most of the chili seasonings), so this is a good substitute for chili that is Anti-Inflammatory/AIP compliant.

The best part is, you can throw it all together in the crockpot and leave it, let the crockpot do the work for you!



Yield: 8 servings

Calories per serving: 284, fat 16, carb 12, protein 26


  1. 2 tbsp coconut oil
  2. 1 white onion, chopped
  3. 8 garlic cloves, minced
  4. 1 tbsp thyme
  5. 2 cup carrots, chopped
  6. 4 cups bone broth
  7. 1 tsp salt
  8. 2 cups sweet potato, cubed
  9. 2 lbs lean ground turkey
  10. 1-2 avocado
  11. cilantro for garnish


  1. Heat your coconut oil in a medium pan. Add the onion and cook for a few minutes, until translucent.
  2. Add the garlic and thyme and cook for another couple of minutes, stirring.
  3. Add the carrots and sweet potatoes and onion mix to crock pot
  4. Cook the ground beef in a skillet until thoroughly cooked throughout and browned.
  5. Add to crock pot and let cook for 4-6 hours.
  6. Serve each bowl garnished with avocado slices and fresh cilantro.
