The unofficial kickoff of summer is here: Memorial Day Weekend. Are you excited? I don’t know about you, but I am happy that the warm weather is here to stay. Summer is packed with parties, celebrations, gatherings and a lot of it involves BBQs!

But, it is important to stay on track with your health and stay focused on your goals!

Swimsuit season is not the time to derail and start gaining weight – in fact, it is the worst time for weight gain! Yes, you may be a bit more active with nicer weather BUT, the cocktails by the pool, beers in the beer garden or rooftop bar add up quickly. It is inevitable that you will be attending summer parties and you need a plan! Be it formal gatherings or last minute get-togethers – be prepared. Summer is a social time but we can still eat healthy without sacrificing flavor.

We’ve gathered 15 Healthy Memorial Day recipes that cover you for summer entertaining and weeknight grilling. We even found a healthy alcoholic beverage!!

Memorial Day isn’t all BBQs and parties though. It’s also a time to reflect and be grateful to the men and women who have given their lives for their country.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend with friends and family around your table, grill, pool, or front porch. And, when you head to the grocery store, pick up the ingredients for a few of these recipes. You won’t regret it!!
